Safety

Safety, limits and when to get help.

For most healthy adults, listening to a guided hypnosis session is considered low-risk: some people feel briefly drowsy, lightheaded or have a mild headache afterward. Dypnosis is a self-guided wellness tool. It is not therapy, medical treatment or crisis support, and it does not replace professional care.

If you are in crisis

Dypnosis cannot help in an emergency and nobody monitors sessions. If you are thinking about harming yourself or feel unsafe:

  • United States: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or 911 in an emergency.
  • UK and Ireland: call Samaritans on 116 123, or 999 / 112 in an emergency.
  • Elsewhere: find a local helpline at findahelpline.com, or call your local emergency number.

Check with a clinician first if you

  • have a history of psychosis, a dissociative condition, severe PTSD or epilepsy
  • are being treated for a mental-health condition, an eating disorder or alcohol dependence

If you drink heavily every day, do not stop suddenly without medical advice: alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous.

When not to listen

  • Never while driving, operating machinery or doing anything that needs your full attention.
  • Not as a reason to stop medication or treatment.
  • If a session brings up distressing memories or feelings, stop it. You can always stop at any time, and you stay aware throughout.

What Dypnosis does not claim

Dypnosis does not diagnose anything and does not promise outcomes. Research on hypnosis is encouraging for some uses and mixed or limited for others; for example, the U.S. National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health describes the evidence for anxiety around medical procedures as promising but not conclusive, and for quitting smoking as conflicting. Each topic’s evidence is summarized, with sources, in the Journal.

Sessions are written by an AI within fixed safety rules: no age regression, no out-of-body imagery, no language implying loss of control, and no diagnosis, medication or medical advice. How sessions are made.

Privacy

Your questionnaire answers are sent to the script-writing service without your name or email address, and are not used to train AI models. What is collected, why and for how long is in the Privacy Policy. You can delete any session from your library, and deleting your account removes your sessions, feedback and preferences; for help, write to support@dypnosis.com.
