How it works
How a Dypnosis session is made.
Dypnosis is an online service that creates personalized hypnosis audio sessions from your goal, your answers to a few questions and the voice you choose.
In short: you choose a goal and a voice, answer eight questions, and an AI writes a hypnosis script around your answers that is recorded in that voice. The first 2 sessions are free, with no card needed.
The six steps
Choose a programme
Pick what you want to work on, for example letting go of someone, sleep, stress, smoking or vaping, eating habits, alcohol, confidence or a looping mind.
Pick a voice
Listen to the samples and choose one of 13 synthetic voices (two are included on the free plan).
Answer eight short questions
About the moments that are hardest, what usually triggers them, what you have tried and what you would like instead. The questions differ by programme.
Your session is written and recorded
An AI language model writes a hypnosis script around your answers, following the programme’s session structure and Dypnosis’s safety rules. The script is then recorded in your chosen voice. This usually takes a few minutes.
Listen and replay
The session stays in your library. Replaying a session never uses your allowance. Listen sitting or lying down, ideally with headphones.
Shape the next one, if you want
After a session you can leave optional feedback. Only structured preferences (for example more or less of a technique) shape later sessions, and you can see, change or reset them on your dashboard.
What “personalized” means here
A prerecorded hypnosis track is the same for everyone who plays it. A Dypnosis session is written for one person, from:
- the programme (goal) you choose
- your answers to eight short questions, such as when the pattern is strongest and what you want instead
- the voice you choose
- optional feedback after a session, as structured preferences you can view, change or reset
So a session for letting go can refer to whether you are still in contact with the person and the time of day the pull is strongest; a sleep session can work with what actually keeps you awake. That makes it more relevant to you. It is not a promise of a faster or stronger result, and change usually builds with repetition. For a neutral comparison, see personalized vs generic hypnosis audio.
What a session is like
Each session follows a familiar hypnosis shape: settling and relaxing, focusing attention, rehearsing a different response to the moments you described, and returning to ordinary alertness. Sleep sessions end by easing you toward sleep instead. You stay aware throughout and can stop at any time. More on the experience in what hypnosis feels like.
How AI is used
Scripts are written by an OpenAI language model from your questionnaire answers (sent without your name or email address) and recorded with the MiniMax text-to-speech model via Replicate. Your answers, scripts, audio and feedback are not used to train AI models.
The voices are synthetic personas, not recordings of real hypnotherapists. Session design is informed by established hypnosis frameworks and professional hypnotherapy training certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH). The NGH certifies that training, not Dypnosis itself or its sessions.
Details of what is sent to each provider are in the Privacy Policy.

What it is not
- Not a library of identical prerecorded tracks: each session is written for one person.
- Not a meditation app, though sessions use relaxation and focused attention.
- Not therapy, counselling or coaching, and not a live hypnotherapist.
- Not a medical service: it does not diagnose, treat or replace professional care.
- Not crisis or emergency support.
Read safety and limitations before your first session.
